He is the head of the house and makes me laugh daily. I met him when I was seventeen, on a blind-date that I did not want to go on. Fortunately, I went, because I cannot imagine being with a better man. He provides for our family and I am thankful daily for all that he does for us. He sacrifices, he loves, and he supports.
He is probably one of the most patient people I have met, which is good, because I can be emotional and need a patient person to wait for me to have a rational thought. He is hardworking and often needs to be reminded to relax. He loves cutting wood, bicycling, reading, napping, and back rubs. Oh yes, and his dogs. He loves his dogs. They are not my children, no matter what he may say.
Kevin and I have the privilege of calling her our daughter. We adopted her shortly after her first dad died. She has lived with us since she was five years old. She is a super smart, very beautiful teen. She has her own blog that she used to post in, but now more focused on music and friends. Julia (The baby, daughter)
Julia is a curious toddler. From the time Emily moved in with us, to the time she was born it was seven years. Before her there were many (8) foster children, who all were able to move back home with their mommies. We never knew we would be blessed with a baby to call our very own. We are all enamored with her and Emily loves having a sister she can keep.
Skeezix (Rat Terrier: dog; aka Skeezasaurus)
He was our first dog we ever owned as a family. My husband had told me when we got married, I would never get a dog, because they were annoying. Once we got him, I realized I agreed with him whole-heartedly, but unfortunately my husband is in love and will often point out that Skeezix is his best friend. When I point out that I am supposed to be his best friend, he simply says, "I'm not the one that ruled dogs are man's best friend. It's just a fact-of-life. Sorry honey." So I've been replaced... by a dog... one that eats its own poop and sleeps in our bed.
Misty (Rat Terrier: dog; aka the Mistadon)
We bought Misty, so Kevin's best friend would have a canine best friend. This worked out lovely and has made Skeezix less annoying to me, because, well, she is ten times more annoying with her constant licking, barking, and spastic movements.
